Bangalore Diaries: A Calcuttan's Bangalore 🩵

Image
Somehow, Bangalore has it all. When I moved from Delhi all those years back, I was so scared. I thought it's a different culture, people are different, how will I survive? And then... 7 years later, I speak Bangalorean English ending with macha, anna, akka, bro and what not.  Bangalore isn't for everyone but once you fall in love with Bangalore, you just can't leave.  For someone born in Calcutta, I find Bangalore has that right combo of addas on weekends, wonderful people (at least the ones I've met) and central Bangalore, my home now, can't leave, like ever. And the cafes. Bangalore has issues but this city is the right balance of chaos and calm.  I'm woken up by birds pecking at my window, a few monkeys if I'm lucky.  That's Bangalore for me. Chaotic, calm, poetic and prosaic, busy and loving, dirty and pretty, problematic and quiet, all at the same time. To all who love Bangalore and feel like you belong here, bangalore is home. 🩵🙂  #JustBangalore...

Bangalore Diaries: A Walk Down The Chinar Lanes

Image
For those who love Bangalore... Did you know that apart from Malleswaram and Lal Baug, Fraser Town is home to multiple Chinar Trees?  What makes Mosque Road, Fraser Town, so pretty is the presence of these beautiful trees which are home to birds like woodpeckers, skylarks, bulbul, mynah and parrots. These trees also produce a beautiful musk which smells like vanilla and lavender combined early in the morning. Moreover, Chinars are ever- green trees that never lose their leaves fully, even in winters and also keep this part of the City, cooler than most parts.  Fraser Town still has beautiful old bungalows with gardens and bright colours. One of the many reasons why i chose to live here.  Here's another Bangalore story for you. Happy Sunday y'all. Stay tuned for more 🩵
