Angels and Demons-Genesis- Creation and The Fall of The Angels Part 1

 



Since the Fall of The Angels and The Fall of Man,  the enemity between the Darkness and the Light has become even more evident and has reached its peak today.  We may deny the existence of Personified Evil or even the existence of anything supernatural, but in the times we live in,  it becomes even more evident.  

But, to understand what led to this or rather, why the most perfect beings could be overwhelmed with pride and jealousy,  we need to go back.  Back at when God created the Earth,  Heaven and the Heavenly Bodies.   God being All Good,  created all things out of love. God, who is Love Personified never intended to create an evil Personified.  But yet somehow,  His Omnipotence knew what would happen and how He would play His part in the Drama of Salvation.  God Created the lights to distinguish between day and night.  Theologians often suggest that it was on that day and time God created the Angels.  Magnificent Beings,  immortal , pure spirits, brighter than any created lights, full of wisdom, sons of God and His friends.  



Angels were created out of love as were other creatures but these creatures were different. They resembled perfection in all ways that creatures could be perfect.  Of them were the very special friends and sons of God, St. Michael the Archangel,  st. Gabriel the Archangel,  St. Raphael The Archangel and others. Lucifer the light bearer was one of them. Being closest to God this Angel was perfect and the most beautiful.  Bit alas this beauty would later make him the most horrifying of all. Each Angel was assigned a task. Some guarded, some protected while others informed.  


While certain traditions of the Church say the Angels who fell or rebelled, did so because they were told of the Incarnation, while others state the rebellious Angels were angry at God because of our Lady.  But the biblical interpretation was that Lucifer wanted to make himself equal or above God and set his throne above His.



However, about the Fall, I would like to quote from one of the most significant Qumran Scrolls namely, the Book of Enoch or Hanoch. Enoch states the following,  "they showed me, and I saw a darkness greater than earthly darkness. And there I perceived prisoners under guard, hanging up, waiting for the measureless judgment. And those angels have the appearance of darkness itself, more than earthly darkness. And unceasingly they made weeping, all the day long. And I said to the men who were with me, “Why are these ones being tormented unceasingly?” Those men answered me, “These are those who turned away from the LORD, who did not obey the LORD’s commandments, but of their own will plotted together and turned away with their prince and with those who are under restraint in the fifth heaven.” (Enoch 2)

Day 5: Chai Sutra: The Tea Trail of Ooty "Not all who wander are lost." - J.R.R. Tolkien My day began with Rosary and a trek through Elk Hill to visit the legendary Murugan temple housing a colossal statue of Murugan Swamy (Kartikeya), the god of war and bravery and the first born son of Shiva. Surrounded by pines and oaks, this trail took me half an hour's trek and Blessed with some beautiful views. Strong winds and showers of monsoon rain had made the trail not only beautiful but also dangerous but for a adventurer, when has a steep dangerous road stopped men from exploring the unexplored? Having explored Elk Hill and its charming views, I walked through another picturesque trail to The Government Rose Garden which is home to more than 500 different species of roses.
